The Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) is seeking a Network Infrastructure Specialist to join the information systems section of the Administration Division. This position is responsible for:
- Managing the daily operations and continuously improving MDAH’s network infrastructure.
- Overseeing the administration and optimization of network systems to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient performance.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting network devices, including switches, firewalls, servers, hypervisors, and storage solutions.
- Diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
- Mentoring and providing guidance to less experienced staff to foster a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
Success in this role requires strong technical expertise in networking, along with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach, a commitment to completing tasks efficiently, and a willingness to continuously learn and improve in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5–10 years of experience in IT, with a focus on network operations and administration, are typically required. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network management, troubleshooting, and optimization. While a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is preferred, it is not mandatory.
