About the Agency:
The office of Broadband Expansion and Accessibility of Mississippi “BEAM” is the State Broadband office and is responsible for administering grant funding, mapping service availability, and guiding broadband policy for the State of Mississippi. The office operates as a division of the Department of Finance and Administration.
About the Position:
- Senior-level Program Management and Support professional position accountable for directing, analyzing, and supervising the processes and activities involved in large-scale broadband infrastructure projects that are funded through grants from BEAM.
- This employee will oversee a portfolio of grant funded projects and interact daily with internet service providers, outside engineers, internal and external auditors, local governmental officials, federal and state agencies, the general public, and other entities necessary to ensure that grant funds are expended in accordance with grant rules, milestones and timelines for each particular project.
- This employee will be accountable for assessing and reporting on the progress of programmatic achievements and identifying areas of weakness which may adversely affect the progress of the grant funded project.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 4-7 years of experience.
- The ideal candidate will have experience with telecommunications infrastructure including an understanding of network operations and construction of broadband or related infrastructure planning and development.
- Familiarity with GIS and data analysis tools is preferred
