What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mississippi First and RePublic Schools - Operations Residency position at Mississippi First and RePublic Schools?
WHAT IS THE CHARTER SCHOOL OPERATIONS LEADER RESIDENCY?
The Charter School Operations Leader Residency is a one-year program that equips education leaders with the tools and resources needed to obtain administrative roles in charter schools through mentorship, training, and hands-on experience. Strong school operational leadership is the backbone of a successful high-quality charter school or charter school system. Operations leaders are responsible for ensuring that the school runs like a well-oiled machine while also setting an operational vision aligned with the aspirations and identities of the scholars they serve and the sustainability of the school.
In a nascent charter school sector like Mississippi, it is imperative that we find and prepare potential operations leaders to step into critical roles in high-quality charter schools. Historically, we have seen these roles be the most difficult to recruit and train. Through a new collaboration, Mississippi First and RePublic Schools, Inc. intend to confront this challenge by providing a curated program that trains and develops operations leaders to be ready to take on these roles and support the growth of the sector within one year’s time.
We seek leaders who reflect the communities they serve, bring deep knowledge of the issues facing their communities, and have a leadership mindset to combat those issues within our public education system.
