LASER OPERATOR WANTED
Mississippi Laser, Inc is seeking a highly qualified laser operator to start immediately. Applicants must meet most of the qualifications listed blow.
SUMMARY:
The laser operator sets up and operates a laser cutting machine to produce products that meet customer quality requirements. The Laser operator is responsible for operating and processing parts according to print. Parts are nested by a programmer, and the operator is responsible for loading programs into the machine for cutting. The operator is responsible for adjusting the program for optimal cutting conditions. Cutting performance and utilization are essential. Candidate will be training on a 5-axis laser, BLM flat sheet and tube laser, and a Mazak CO2 laser.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The individual must have a solid understanding of laser cutting concepts and processes.
Minimum 2 years of prior laser set up and operation experience is required.
The individual must possess a keen sense of attention to detail
Must be able to navigate in a windows based computer environment
Must possess the ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measure and calipers, and hand tools.
Must be able to determine material types and gauges
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds
Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
Must have forktruck experience and experience loading and unloading customer trucks and semi trailers
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Follows safe manufacturing and material handling practices
Can follow written and verbal details to complete assignments or jobs
Understands how to complete production paperwork
Understands machine setup including: program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and settings
Understands how to operate overhead cranes
Understands start-up and shut down for laser machines
Understands how to read material sheet tags and determines material types and gauges
Understands cross check concepts and inspects product according to print
Must be able to keep work environment clean, safe and orderly
Can accurately count and record part quantities and locations
Can use a calipers and tape measure to perform accurate measurements per specific print and drawing tolerances
Can perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively, per specifications
Can identify and communicate to management machine and quality issues as they arise
Can set up multiple machines
