About the Job
The Underground Equipment Mechanic will perform service, repairs, and preventative maintenance on all mobile and plant equipment.
Perform various mechanical duties within the operation on mobile equipment such as Loaders, Haul Trucks, Roof Bolter. Perform PM activities on all mobile equipment such as oil and filter changes, oil sampling, replacing, or repairing tires, etc. Perform service on pumps, generators, and other like plant equipment. Perform call out duties as needed. Must be able to be on call periodically as required by management.Monitor and map all underground water collection areas and current pumping equipment.Maintain adequate water levels in mine to ensure mining operations are not disrupted.Maintain accurate and precise records of repair orders for each piece of equipment.Be able to install new water pumps or water lines to maintain water levels in mine.Assist the maintenance department in maintaining an up-to-date parts inventory system for equipment. Assist maintenance department during times when help is needed in other areas.Maintain clean and safe work area.Communicate effectively with all plant employees.Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities as needed.Required Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2-year degree in related field preferred.Experience : 2-4 years of experience in related environment or position preferred.Skills : Basic reading and math skills required. Effective communication and computer skills with operating knowledge of Microsoft software also required.Abilities : Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety guidelines and work procedures. Must be able to perform call out duties as needed. Candidates must be able to independently solve problems and work under minimal supervision. Must be able to work outdoors and in some instances all shift. Must be able to work underground.Schedule : Employees are periodically required to perform emergency work during various hours of the day, and through the week. Therefore, employees must be capable of working odd hours and or days when called upon and must respond to callouts within a reasonable period.The Fine Print
