Position Summary :
The Assistant Center Store Manager position works directly with the Center Store Manager to maintain, grow, and run a successful team within Grocery and Wellness departments, ensuring excellent customer outcomes, effective team leadership, a positive and safe work environment, organized and efficient operations, a visually appealing space, and sound financial outcomes.
Specific areas of accountability include customer service, onboarding and training, shift supervision, support of general operations, safety and sanitation, purchasing, merchandising, and financial duties.
Qualifications :
- Customer Service : Proven ability to provide excellent customer service and experience, utilizing feedback and knowledge to find solutions to customers' issues promptly and efficiently, maintaining a professional demeanor even in challenging situations; ability to seek feedback from customers to continuously improve the customer experience
- Retail Experience : Experience working in a fast-paced retail setting
- Leadership Skills : Proven ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive, professional work environment; experienced in providing day to day direction, feedback, and coaching to staff; desire to grow as people leaders and support staff development
- Communication : Proven interpersonal skills for effective and professional interactions with staff, managers, and other departments; ability to communicate departmental and organizational goals, policies, and changes clearly to staff, ensuring everyone is on the same page; effective communication of department needs and ideas to leadership
- Training and Development Skills : Ability to coordinate, and deliver effective training; skilled in explaining information in a clear and understandable manner, using various methods and resources to facilitate learning based on individual needs; ability to seek feedback and adjust strategies
- Prioritization and Time Management : Proven ability to efficiently organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and achieve department objectives ensuring alignment with organizational goals; ability to delegate effectively to departmental staff as appropriate

Schedule : 5 shifts per week; weekend availability required. Current shifts available may vary and can include day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours to meet department needs. Flexibility required to meet business needs.

Physical and Working Requirements :
The position involves frequent stationary tasks, along with regular movement within the grocery and storage areas. Frequent positioning is required to access both low and high shelving, equipment, and products. The job also entails the frequent movement of containers weighing up to 60 lbs. Assistant Center Store Managers frequently handle packaged grocery items and may frequently ascend / descend a ladder to reach high shelving. Assistant Center Store Managers will utilize various equipment including but not limited to pallet jacks, lifts, a baler, computers, and printers. This role requires exchanging accurate information in person, over the phone, and through email and other written communication. Assistant Center Store Managers will frequently work in a walk-in cooler and be exposed to sanitizer, cleaning products, and loud noises. This position requires an individual to be at least 18 years old.
