Position Summary :
Bakers will prepare baked goods from scratch for our three locations. They make sure the kitchen is clean and well-stocked, and that our food and processes follow safety and quality standards.
Duties include baked goods production, finishing, packaging, safety, quality, and sanitation.
Location : 740 East 7th Street, Saint Paul MN 55106
Schedule : 3 - 4 shifts per week, 5am or 6am start. Preferred days : Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday.
Qualifications :
- High Volume Production : Experience in high-volume scratch baking, catering, and pastry production / finishing
- Food Production Knowledge : Understanding of food production and essential baking techniques including weighing and measuring ingredients
- Food Safety and Hygiene : Knowledge of safe food handling and cleanliness throughout the cooking process
- Communication : Demonstrated effective and respectful communication with customers and team members
- Teamwork : Able to be flexible to support the changing needs of our team and store
- Time Management : Able to prioritize tasks and use time well to finish daily tasks
- Initiative : Able to look ahead to department needs, and act to improve or deal with in a way that prevents problems before they happen
- Dependability : Ability to show up each day in a timely manner ready to work
- Diversity Awareness : Able to respect people from all different backgrounds and abilities

Physical and Working Requirements :
The position involves frequent stationary tasks, along with regular movement within the kitchen and storage areas. Frequent positioning is required to access both low and high shelving, equipment, and products. The job also entails the frequent movement of containers weighing up to 50 lbs. Bakers constantly prepare and handle food items and may occasionally ascend / descend a ladder to reach high shelving. Bakers will utilize various equipment including but not limited to knives, mixers, ovens, dough sheeters, and pallet jacks. This role requires exchanging accurate information in person and over the phone. Additionally, Bakers will occasionally work in a walk-in cooler / freezer and be exposed to low temperatures, sanitizer, cleaning products, and loud noises.
