This position resides in the Governmental Affairs Office of Southern Company and is responsible for providing direct administrative support to the Senior Vice Presidents of Legislative Affairs and Regulatory Affairs. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the administrative field supporting an officer level employee in a corporate or government environment. This position requires exceptional organizational and decision-making skills. They must be a self-starter and possess the ability and desire to work through changing priorities with minimal supervision.
The duties performed include but are not limited to :
- Scheduling and coordinating meetings
- Processing expense reports
- Production of meeting materials
- Calendar maintenance
- Handling travel arrangements
- Assisting with in-office events
- Handling confidential information
- Assisting with communications projects including social media accounts and updating & sending mass email newsletters
- Other administrative and office tasks as assigned
This position is located in northwest Washington, D.C. area near Capitol Hill and is an in-person position.
