What are the responsibilities and job description for the On-Site Truck Driver position at Mississippi Steel Processing, LLC?
On-Site Truck Driver B-Shift- Monday through Thursday 4 pm - 2 am
-Responsibilities:
1. Material Transportation
-Safely operate and drive trucks on campus to transport raw materials, steel products, and other materials as required.
-Load and unload materials onto the truck, ensuring secure and efficient handling.
2. Safety Compliance
-Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations during the operation of the truck and while on campus.
-Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections of the vehicle and trailer to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly.
3. Traffic Coordination
-Coordinate with other on-site personnel to ensure smooth and efficient loading/unloading.
4. Documentation
-Maintain accurate records of materials transported.
-Complete necessary paperwork, such as logbooks and delivery receipts, in compliance with company policies and procedures.
5. Vehicle Maintenance
-Perform routine maintenance check on the truck and trailer, such as checking oil, fuel and other fluid levels, as well as tire pressure, to ensure the vehicle's reliability.
6. Communication
-Communicate effectively with on-site personnel, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate material movements and respond to any instructions properly.
7. Emergency Response
-Be prepared to respond to emergencies or unexpected situations, such as spills or accidents, by following established procedures and protocols.
-Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Proven experience as a flat bed truck driver, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Proven experience driving manual transmission trucks.
- Strong commitment to safety and the ability to follow established safety procedures.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures
- Second shift availability
-Working Conditions:
- This position involves working in an industrial setting, often in variable weather conditions.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production schedules.
