Job Description Summary
- Provides daily support for the operations of the Gordy Honors College, the Women’s College, and the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in STEM (LSAMP).
- Provides support as needed for the operations of the Center for Women’s Research and Public Policy, the Office of Study Abroad, and the Nancy Yates Fellowships program.
- Provides support to a growing number of initiatives and programs.
- Assists staff and students in all units with processes and documentation related to core functions including program planning, advising, academic progress, scholarships, study abroad, and student-led programming.
- In coordination with the other Site Coordinator(s), supports LSAMP students by tracking their program participation and stipends, supporting their academic success through both individual and group meetings, and coordinating their regional travel.
- Assists in the planning, organization, promotion, and running of events and other programming.
- Assists in the development of and distributes promotional materials in print form and via social media.
- Contributes to maintaining and updating social media outlets.
- Facilitates travel arrangements for unit staff, university guests, and faculty directors of study abroad programs, adhering to University travel guidelines.
- Provides support for travel with students, to include some travel with LSAMP students as necessary for enrichment and other related activities.
- Tracks budget expenditures, maintains spreadsheets for unit budgets, reconciles monthly budget reports, prepares departmental purchase orders, and maintains all financial records.
- Tracks data for evaluation and assessment
- Composes and responds to office-related email.
- Inventories and purchases equipment and supplies.
- Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master degree preferred; seasoned professional knowledge equivalent to a master’s degree required
- Minimum of one year of work-related experience; three years preferred
- Background in administrative support and higher ed preferred

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
- Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and organization
- Ability to use independent judgement and manage confidential information
- Ability to work creatively and enthusiastically with a diverse group both in the office and across campus
- Excellent telephone courtesy knowledge and experience
- Excellent organization skills and detail oriented
- Flexibility to work some evenings for special events and for occasional travel with students, as necessary and especially for LSAMP, for enrichment and other related activities
