What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cryogenics Service Technician position at Mississippi Welders Supply?
The Cryogenics Service Technician is responsible for day-to-day operations including installation, maintenance, and removal of bulk gas product and delivery systems. This position will also work with internal and external sales personnel to recommend, evaluate, and implement solutions per customer demand.
Educational and skills requirements:
A mechanical, electrical, HVAC or related degree preferred or equivalent industry experience. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required. 2 years of industry experience preferred. Thorough understanding of the technical aspects of cryogenic gases required either in advance or within 6 months (with on-the-job training) of position acquisition. Mechanically inclined with mechanical piping knowledge to include excellent troubleshooting skills and a solid knowledge of welding, silver brazing, electrical AC and DC circuitry also required. Technical capabilities across all sectors, comprehensive industry knowledge preferred (refrigeration experience a plus). Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the installation and removal of bulk cryogenic and non-cryogenic systems to include Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon, CO2, Hydrogen, and Helium systems in the assigned coverage area.
- Maintain and troubleshoot bulk cryogenic and non-cryogenic systems as needed.
- Purchase supplies and equipment required for maintenance and installation of bulk gases equipment and support services for the sales department.
- Track time and materials on projects and ensure all are properly expensed or billed as appropriate.
- Responsible for maintenance records on Fill Plant equipment, including cryogenic tanks.
- Liquid cylinder service and repair.
- Coordinating a tracking system for liquid cylinders and preventative maintenance.
- Follow MWSCO safety policies, procedures, and goals.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and move products or materials weighing 100 pounds with the assistance of material handling equipment.
- Regularly work outdoors under all weather conditions.
Travel Requirements:
- Consistent travel within MWSCO territory.
- The ability to work 8 or more hours per day per business demand.
- Intermittent weekend work per customer and business demand.
- Out of town and overnight travel for customer projects per business demand, general training and industry events.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
