Job Summary
The TFC Recruiter will recruit new TFC and TFC relative homes in MACF service areas and in underserved circuits statewide. The primary focus is on creating safe, nurturing, and stable families for children in the foster care system in Missouri. This position demonstrates a commitment to connecting children to families and keeping families connected.
The TFC Recruiter will be trained on the NCTSN (The National Child Traumatic Stress Network) toolkit. This is a comprehensive trauma informed method of creating change and helping individuals heal from trauma. The TFC Recruiter must have a clear understanding of trauma and demonstrate this understanding in their work with youth and resource providers. The ultimate outcome for a trauma informed philosophy is the creation of safe and stable living environments that promote safety, permanency, and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing the annual recruitment plan.
· Guiding the development of recruitment materials and coordinating the use and distribution of such materials.
· Representing the agency at community events and workgroups focused on foster home recruiting.
· Arranging and facilitating informational meetings.
· Coordinate efforts in using major media to promote the recruitment of TFC foster homes.
· Educate potential applicants about the needs of children in foster care and the opportunities to become a TFC foster home provider.
· Respond to inquiries from new families interested in TFC foster care within one business day and screen families for further development based on the agencies identified needs. Assist families that do not meet the agencies needs by referring them to programs that can meet their needs.
· Maintain a tracking tool of all inquiries with source of the referral and outcome to inform the annual recruitment plan.
· Network with other community agencies to enhance collaborative recruitment efforts.
· Compile monthly and annual reports documenting recruitment and retention efforts. Provide ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of recruitment efforts.
· Assist the Resource development specialists in facilitating the matching process between TFC homes and youth needing placement.
· Keep abreast of agency, local, state, and federal policy and practice related to TFC Foster Care.
· Monitor and support families through regular phone contacts, home visits and other activities during the recruiting process.
· Work with Family Finding Specialists to conduct child-specific recruitment efforts for youth seeking to be placed with relatives.
· Develop community awareness of TFC services.
· Consult proactively with TFC Specialist for ongoing placement needs.
· Assist in developing quarterly newsletters to send to resource families.
· Represent Missouri Alliance to the professional and social community.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a closely related clinical field from an accredited college and a minimum of two years of experience working with children and families of child-placing or residential treatment agencies.
2. Clear understanding of trauma and the work with those who have experienced trauma.
3. Knowledge of the Missouri child and family service systems, i.e.: Medicaid (MO HealthNet, CPS, DFS, MRDD, Youth Services, Education, and Vocational
4. Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
5. Must be willing to travel.
6. Current Missouri driver’s license, good driving record, and vehicle insurance
7. Meet required background checks.
8. Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and data entry
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
