SUMMARY: The Risk Placement Technician provides essential clerical and administrative support to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our insurance processes.
LEVEL I: Basic and routine clerical support functions with activities overseen by team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides administrative support to the Risk Placement Team, including handling daily mail, policy maintenance, billing, and commission processing.
- Review insurance applications for completeness and enter client information into the agency management system.
- Communicate with agents, brokerage companies, and internal teams to gather and verify policy information.
- Retrieve and organize policy documents from insurance carrier websites; maintain accurate client records and perform regular file audits.
- Understand and apply various insurance coverages to ensure proper data entry and classification.
- Enter policy limits and coverage details for Certificates of Insurance based on declarations pages.
- Track and manage pending new business and renewal applications.
- Research and resolve client and agent inquiries; escalate complex issues to supervisors or specialists as needed.
- Coordinate with accounting to prepare deposit spreadsheets and assist in processing premium payments.
- Interpret Excel spreadsheets to identify system errors and correct data as necessary.
- Manage multiple workflows efficiently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to shifting demands.
- Support phone operations by answering calls, forwarding messages, and responding to inquiries.
- Assist with the creation of training materials and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
- Verify client memberships and other account-specific requirements.
- Provides excellent customer service to all external and internal customers and maintains a good working relationship with field and Home Office personnel.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Level I – High School graduate or General Education Degree (GED) with one-year general office experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to operate a personal computer.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Experience in an administrative or insurance support role preferred.
- Ability to apply technical materials related to insurance rules, rates, and procedures.
- Ability to learn and adapt to continual changes in products and procedures.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, and collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to handle a variety of assignments with accuracy.

Pay: $29,300.00 - $36,100.00 per year
