What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Missouri Girls Town?
Perform financial analyses on cash flow, operating results, and business plans to determine feasibility, capital/cash flow requirements, etc. Prepare forecasts and analyses on industry and general economic trends. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
Accountant will be responsible for the general oversight of outgoing and incoming financial transactions. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Oversee all financial operations
2. Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required)
3. Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use internally and externally
4. Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms and review firms' performance
5. Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
6. Maintaining all records regarding the reporting of all Missouri Girls Town investment.
7. Participating in the continued Strategic Planning Process and implementing it as needed into the organizations PQI plans
8. Handles outgoing expenditures and client accounts in lieu of an Accounts Payable Clerk 9. Other duties as requested by the Executive Director
Qualifications
1. Minimum age of 21.
2. College degree from a four-year institution in the field of accounting or business management.
3. No criminal background or history of abuse to a child
4. Ability to demonstrate caring, tolerance, and patience when dealing with at risk youth
5. Ability to work with both staff and clients
6. Ability to demonstrate understanding of philosophy, policies and procedures and strategies and programs of Missouri Girls Town
7. Ability to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and ethics
8. Ability to be on time and dependable
Environmental/Working Conditions
Ability to work with the clients both inside and out at all times of the year. Hours outside normal business hours may be necessary to complete responsibilities. Hours exceeding 40 hours per week must have supervisor approval. Hours exceeding 40 hours per week will be compensated at time and a half. This is a non-exempt position according to the FLS
