Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for the staff, visitors and the collections at all Society properties. The Officer will stand posts, screen access, patrol, monitor activity, have courteous and professional interaction with Museum visitors and deter and/or interdict criminal activity according to Missouri Historical Society's policy and the St. Louis County Police Private Security Section. This shift works weekend days.

Essential Functions
- As an essential staff member, required to work scheduled shift at all times, in all conditions
- Provides excellent services to all visitors and achieve departmental standards in visitor satisfaction and service excellence Represent the Institution in an exemplary manner as front-line staff
- Conducts Security Patrols to deter the threat of crime
- Demonstrates and maintain current and accurate knowledge of Missouri Society's Resource Protection Department and St. Louis County Private Security Section's Policies and Procedures
- Attends training and staff meetings as required by the Institution and the Resource Protection Department
- Communicates with co-workers, supervisors and Missouri Historical Society's staff and visitors
- Maintains accountability for submitting accurate documentation
- Performs tasks associated with Resource Protection Officer duties
- High school diploma or equivalent. Some secondary education and experience in security-related field a plus
- 2-years experience preferred
- Must be able to obtain a Metropolitan Security Officer's License through the St. Louis County Police Department Private Security Section
- Must have a valid state issued vehicle operator's license
- Required to stand and walk a large percent of time
- Often required to work a flexible schedule outside of normal business hours
