What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher (Full Time) position at Missouri Ozarks Community Action?
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational and behavioral strategies for children with special needs, including those with autism
- Provide care and support for toddlers and preschool-aged children in a daycare setting
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum
- Support children in developing social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills
- Assist with behavior management and create a positive learning environment
Skills:
- Experience working with special needs children, particularly those with autism
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs of each child and provide appropriate support
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards children
