ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide supervision, assistance, and support to and for individuals receiving services from MQC in accordance with the individuals’ support plan
- Ensure the health and safety of all individuals and promote independence in all areas of daily living; To include but not limited to community integration, health and wellness, skill development, and successful goal achievement.
- Ability to physically assist individuals as needed to promote independence in activities of daily living, including but not limited to: personal care, community integration, meal preparation, funds management, and social skills
- Review and complete the required daily documentation
- Administer medications
- Assist, monitor, and supervise the individuals supported during the performance of house cleaning chores, i.e. dusting, vacuuming, bed making, laundry, ironing, dish-washing and table setting. Performs all housekeeping responsibilities that the individuals supported cannot satisfactorily complete.
- Uses a pro-active approach to offer and actively encourage choice making.
- Teaches the individuals supported the aspects of good nutrition, i.e. menu planning, diet requirements, food groups, preparation, handling and shopping; provide supervision and, if necessary, hands on assistance.
- Provides transportation to individuals in accordance with agency policy
- Maintain current certification and training in CPR, First Aid, DD Medication Aide training as well as any required site-specific training
- Maintain a flexible schedule as schedules may be altered based on the needs identified by individuals receiving supports
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Must 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and current auto insurance to remain on site.
- Ability to pass a background check in accordance with MO DMH DD requirements
MENTAL/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to bend, lift, stoop, and reach to file
- Crisis Management/De-escalation (Training Provided)
- Work regularly scheduled days, including those that fall on holidays
- Enthusiastic team player that handles stressful situations professionally with ease
- Positive attitude and ability to talk to anyone
- Ability to handle stressful situations well
- Great communication skills
