What are the responsibilities and job description for the CEC FISCAL SERVICE CENTER LEAD position at Missouri S&T?
Lead the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) Fiscal Service Center, managing fiscal operations for two CEC departments.
The position is responsible for reviewing and approving a high volume of financial transactions; and communicating daily with campus stakeholders.
Job Duties include:
- Supervise and develop Service Center staff; manage staff training, schedules, absence coverage, and evaluations
- Ensure compliance with university, regulatory, and fiscal requirements
- Streamline processes with the help of the Service Center team
- Review and approve financial transactions
- Resolve errors and improve efficiency
- Reconcile payroll, department accounts, grants, etc.
- Generate financial reports for department leadership and staff
- Make informed judgements based on policy and provide recommendations to department leadership
- Utilize financial and accounting system applications, databases, and spreadsheets
- Manage annual departmental budgets
- Administer departmental purchasing cards: spending limits, past due transactions, etc.
- Serve as a fiscal liaison for the department. Provide policy guidance
- May occasionally assist department staff to ensure consistent coverage for department
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- High proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Excel-Pivot Tables) PeopleSoft, PowerBI, databases, and other business software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in working with numerical data
- Organized with ability to successfully manage and meet multiple deadlines
- Prior management experience
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $22.00-$26.57 hourly.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
