What are the responsibilities and job description for the STUDENT SERVICE COORDINATOR I position at Missouri S&T?
The Student Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supervising career planning programs for students and providing career advising services on an individual and group basis. This position will also present outreach programming and workshops to students in classroom settings, residence halls, and student organizations. The Student Services Coordinator serves as the liaison between career services, academic advising, new student programs, and faculty advisers.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise students both individually and in groups. Administer assessment instruments and computerized career guidance systems as needed
- Serve as a facilitator/resource for career advising activities and professional development training
- Meet with prospective and admitted students and their parents/family members during appropriate campus programs
- Present outreach programs and workshops to students in classroom settings, residence halls, and student organizations
- Assist with the training of paraprofessionals as professional development and career advisors
- Collect and analyze data pertinent to career advising, teaching, and retention of students participating in targeted career planning programs and services for the annual report
- Co-develop and update electronic and paper (handouts/brochures) resources for students
- Oversee student staff and interns. Including hiring and onboarding
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to use assessment instruments and computerized systems
- Excellent counseling, communication, presentation, and organizational skills preferred
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.61 to $21.00 hourly.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
