Description:
The Missouri Secretary of State's Office is seeking a talented and creative Communications Specialist to join our team. This position is integral to supporting the agency's communication efforts and will focus on producing high-quality video content and graphic design materials. The Communications Specialist will report directly to the Communications Director and work closely with other team members to ensure the agency's messages are effectively delivered to diverse audiences across different digital outlets.
Job Functions and General Responsibilities:
Video Production and Editing (70%)
- Plan, shoot, and edit video content for social media, websites, and other platforms.
- Develop creative video concepts that align with the agency's mission and communication goals.
- Ensure all video content adheres to branding and accessibility standards.
- Maintain video production equipment and stay current with best practices and emerging trends in video production.
Graphic Design and Copy Writing (30%)
- Design visually appealing graphics for print and digital media, including social media posts, infographics, and reports.
- Work within established brand guidelines to maintain a consistent visual identity across all materials.
- Collaborate with the Communications Director and other stakeholders to conceptualize and execute designs that effectively communicate key messages.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in communications, graphic design, video production, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in video production, editing, and graphic design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong creative and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
