What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor of U.S. History (Tenure-Track) position at Missouri Southern State University?
MSSU is seeking tenure-track assistant professor specializing in United States history since 1877, beginning in August 2025. Candidates must have a PhD in History. The successful candidate will teach a wide range of upper-level courses in modern U.S. history. In addition to a primary specialization in American history, candidates with a secondary specialization in either African American, African, Asian, Middle Eastern, or Global history will be given preference. History faculty at MSSU teach a 4/4 load and serve History, Social Sciences, and Social Studies Education majors. A willingness to teach survey courses in United States, Western Civilization, and/or Global history is required.
