General Function
The Assistant Professor is a member of the ranked faculty with an intermediate academic rank who has demonstrated achievement in the areas of teaching, research, and professional service appropriate to the discipline. The Assistant Professor’s teaching responsibilities are assigned by the academic department head and may include serving as an academic advisor. The Assistant Professor engages in scholarly activities beyond those associated with teaching and is expected to demonstrate professional productivity in research, based upon the availability of resources and consistent with the mission of the University.
Description Of Primary Duties
The position involves working effectively with a team of faculty to deliver a high-quality, engaging, and consistent experience across the audiology program. The duties of this position include teaching didactic courses in audiology to clinical audiology doctoral students and communication sciences and disorders undergraduate students, supervising graduate student research, mentoring graduate students, advising undergraduate students, engaging in research, collaborating in program advancement, and involvement in university service. The service responsibilities of this position include collaborating with all members of the program to maintain accreditation, serve on university, college, and program committees and participate in activities that contribute to the community and the public affairs mission of the university.

The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Assistant Professor are prescribed in the Faculty Handbook.

- Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent in audiology or closely related field from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation; ( ABD will be considered).
- Eligibility for licensure in Audiology in the state of Missouri.
