Description of Primary Duties
Responsibilities include teaching graduate undergraduate courses in secondary methods, literature, and writing and contributing to curricular development for graduate and undergraduate programs in English. Classes are offered in face-to-face, blended, and / or online modalities. Other responsibilities include academic advising and research mentoring for both undergraduate and graduate students; coordinating the MSEd in English graduate program; collaborating with the Department of English and the College of Education faculty in program assessment, improvement, and facilitation; and engaging in departmental, college, university, and professional service activities.

The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Assistant Professor are prescribed in the Faculty Handbook.
Additional Qualifications
Required qualifications include or with a concentration in English Education or a closely related field (ABD considered with completion of degree by December ); an active research agenda; demonstrated evidence of effective teaching; 3 years of successful English Language Arts teaching at the secondary level; and a commitment to preparing students for post-college success.
