Description of Primary Duties
This position seeks a scholar whose research and teaching explore the intersection of new narrative media and literatures in English. The successful candidate will contribute to the programs existing strengths while addressing emerging interests in literary and cultural studies, including new storytelling forms, like podcasts, vertical video, video games, and transmedial narratives. The position will support allied academic programs and enhance student career preparation.Responsibilities include research in New Narrative Media / Anglophone literature; teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses, including general education courses, literature surveys, Shakespeare, world literature, popular culture, advanced / graduate seminars, and / or the Public Affairs Capstone; advising of undergraduate and graduate students, including serving on masters degree paper and thesis committees; and service to department, college, university, and the profession.

The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Assistant Professor are prescribed in the Faculty Handbook.
Additional Qualifications
Required qualifications include in English or a related field by the time of appointment with an active research agenda; demonstrated evidence of effective teaching in relevant areas; and a commitment to preparing students for post-college success.
