General Function
The Instructor NT is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities to teach full-time and to provide appropriate service. The Instructor NT may participate in research or creative activities.
Description Of Primary Duties
Teach four undergraduate courses per semester in the areas of design and new media.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
An earned terminal degree or the degree required for teaching in certain disciplines is required. Potential or demonstrated teaching ability is required. A willingness to serve the academic unit, college, and the University is required.
Additional Qualifications
Candidates must have a master’s degree in Design, New Media, Digital Arts, or a related field. Applicants should have at least two (2) years of professional or academic experience in two or more of the following areas: web design and development ( HTML , CSS , JavaScript), user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, motion graphics, immersive media (AR/VR), interactive design, human-computer interaction, data visualization, generative processes, or creative coding. Candidates must demonstrate teaching ability as well as proficiency with relevant industry-standard software and tools.
