Design & Construction Management
- Preparation and review of bidding documents, construction contracts, consultant agreements and change orders for construction projects
- Coordinate and execute the bidding process, lead and support establishment and renewals of the Master Construction Agreement (MCA), labor contract, and blanket contracts
- Coordination of bidding schedules, standardization, training, and optimization of bidding procedures, and bid documents as required
- Review, provide guidance, and training when appropriate on contract and agreement related documents prepared by business support staff, project managers and consultants, such as Division 1 and project manual documents, contracts, change orders, bonds, insurance, bid advertisements, supplier diversity documentation, contractor bids, and other construction-related documents
- Identification and implementation of process and procedure improvements
- Development of and training on work instructions, templates, and processes for construction related activities in accordance with University policies and procedures
- Train project support staff and project management staff on University contract, agreement and purchase order related policies, procedures and software
- Ensure adherence of contract documents and consultant agreements to current policies and procedures for business support specialists, project managers, and construction project manager positions
- Represent unit and coordinate with other administrators, external contractors and consultants, and outside agencies
- Participate on committees for design and construction at S&T and for UM System that develop administrative policies and procedures and perform other job-related duties as assigned
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
- Three years of University Facilities Planning and Development contracts and agreements initiation, coordination, and execution experience
- Two years of Trimble project management software contracts experience
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,223-$77,000 annually.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
