The S&T IT Department is looking to hire a programmer/systems analyst to join our Applications Team.
This position is responsible for the development of enterprise applications. This is specialized, professional work involving the use of high-level object-oriented programming languages to develop and implement software that automates organizational processes, generates necessary reporting, and achieves desired user-defined, operating results. This will require the ability to analyze and develop logical and/or mathematical descriptions of the functions to be programmed.
IT Department is looking for a candidate to join the team on-site in Rolla, MO with flexible work schedule possibilities after getting established with the team and manager approval. This is not a remote position.

Job Responsibilities:
- Work directly with customers, project managers, and database/systems administrators on design, implementation, maintenance and security of in-house developed applications and 3rd party tools
- Develops well designed, testable, and efficient new code and modifies existing code based on customer requirements
- Maintain documentation for in-house developed and 3rd party applications with respect to purpose, customer scope/audience, data elements, nuances, etc.
- Provide redundancy in support of software/systems across the applications infrastructure team
Non-Technical Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively through verbal and written mediums
- Be an active/attentive listener and be open to constructive criticism
- Work collaboratively in a tightly integrated team environment, mentoring amongst one another
- BS or MS in Computer Science / Information Systems, related disciplines or demonstrated topical skill level in personal activity/employment history
- Have a minimum of 5 years of -
- Experience with one of the following programming languages: Python, Perl, PHP SQL, NodeJS, or Java
- Experience with JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or Vue.js
- Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Oracle)
- Experience with full stack Web Application Development
- Working knowledge of git or similar source code repository
- Ability to comfortably use Linux command line interface
- Familiarity with ticketing/work tracking systems such as JIRA/Trello and modern development practices such as Agile
- Experience with Power Platform or other no-code/low-code platform
- Demonstrated experience with Docker/Containerization and/or application modernization
- Working knowledge with container orchestration platforms
- Experience deploying/managing MySQL or Oracle (or other relational database systems)
- Understanding of underlying operating system infrastructure and storage systems
- Knowledge of internet/network security practices and secure coding
- Familiarity with and demonstrated use of Cloud Computing resources such as Azure/AWS/GCP
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $58,960-$100,027 annually.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
