The Director of the Griffon Experience is a role that requires an attentive, detail-oriented, energetic and highly collaborative leader. Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President; the Director plays a critical role in establishing the University’s first impression to all campus visitors and intensifying the MWSU brand. S/he will plan and direct the University’s on-campus recruitment functions, bring energy to major events, and establish a culture of visitor enthusiasm. The Director will also represent MWSU at off-campus events where prospective students will be present to generate excitement and interest in the university.

Essential Job Functions:
- Plan and co-direct the university-wide strategic enrollment management plan; develop and implement informative and engaging activities that produces a high-quality impression on every guest.
- Utilizes a working knowledge of MWSU’s programs and recruitment processes to provide customized and individualized experiences for visiting students.
- Strategizes, plans, develops and executes logistics for recruitment events, enrollment events, experience events, and all hosted third-party conferences, camps and visitor events, including presenting at informational sessions
- Implementation of recruitment outreach and enrollment initiatives, including MOU and LOI signings, counselor workshops, and targeted influencer engagements.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications on the creation of strategies, presentations, signage, and materials for events. Provides content from experiences to be used as marketing collateral.
- Develops plans and coordination of schedules for attendance and participation at local and regional off-campus events to spread promotional materials, brand recognition, and enhance the stewardship of community partners.
- Lead event planning meetings and activities
- Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of workings of university structure, policies and procedures
- Leadership, supervision, planning and organization skills including team building, strategic planning, and continuous quality improvement
- Exceptional communication skills; ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively
- Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies across the University and the community
- Ability to operate independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
- Strong time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy while adhering to tight deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook) and Google Workspace tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three years of experience in higher education recruitment, admissions or enrollment management, or five-years of experience in event management in a hospitality-related industry.
- Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of progressively responsible leadership in enrollment management or administration
- Experience with Ellucian Banner experience
- Experience with Slate CRM and/or 25Live
Physical Demands
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
