Hourly Range: $70.00-$80.00
Burlington is looking to hire a CWI or CPWI V for a full-time non-benefited position serving all of Washington and Oregon for Pipeline work
Certified welding inspectors are responsible for checking the welding bonds created on a job site. They need extensive knowledge of welding techniques and metal heating, and must also be well versed in safety procedures. Along with in-person inspections, certified welding inspectors also craft reports and inspect welding materials.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
- All candidates must possess extensive knowledge of industry standards including AWS D1.1 and ASME as well as being familiar with relevant NDT techniques and their applications.
- Candidates must have the ability to read and understand written specifications for work orders.
- All candidates must be able to review fabrication and field erection drawings for compliance.
- Perform welder qualification tests and visual weld exams.
- Must be able to communicate with Project Manager, Fabrication shop, clients, supervisors and other inspectors regarding specifications and qualifications.
- All candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be capable of interacting with all levels of personnel on the project.
- Must be able to complete written reports in a timely manner.
- Enforces company safety policies and ensures safe welding practices are implemented and followed.
- Write Weld Procedures – not required, but preferred.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- AWS D1.1Certified Welding Inspector (CWI D1.1) Certification
- Demonstrate experience performing inspection to AWS D1.1 and ASME
- Knowledge and experience with quality/inspection processes such as VT, MT, UT, PT, RT, quality procedures and quality audits.
- Knowledge of welding symbols, the ability to read and interpret fabrication mechanical drawings.
- Qualified individuals must be able to read and understand company safety policies and programs.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to frequently lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively.
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to conduct investigations.
- Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits the employee to perform routine office duties.

- Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
