Mitchell College seeks to hire a full-time Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, to begin in August 2025. This is an opportunity for someone who has done some college-level teaching to move into a full-time role for one-two years. The position comes with full benefits and includes the opportunity to be mentored by full-time faculty and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Teach twelve credit hours (four courses) per semester
- Promote, participate in, and support co- and extra-curricular activities
- Participate in student recruitment and retention activities
- Program/College service as needed and appropriate
Required Education and Experience:
- Relevant master’s degree from an accredited institution; doctoral degree required for hiring at the Assistant Professor rank
- Demonstrated successful teaching at the college level (adjuncting is appropriate)
- Preference for candidates who have experience in and passion for working with diverse learners and a strong commitment to student success
Additional Preferred Qualification:
- Industry experience in a criminal justice field relevant to our curriculum
