Mitchell College seeks to hire a full-time Visiting Instructor of Early Childhood Education, to begin in August 2025. The academic focus of this position will be Literacy or Special Education; only candidates who have graduate coursework and/or teaching experience in one of these fields will be considered. This is an opportunity for someone who has done some college-level teaching to move into a full-time role for one-two years. The position comes with full benefits and includes the opportunity to be mentored by full-time Education program faculty and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Teach twelve credit hours (four courses) per semester
- Promote, participate in, and support co- and extra-curricular activities
- Participate in student recruitment and retention activities
- Program/College service as needed and appropriate
Required Education and Experience:
- Relevant master’s degree from an accredited institution; advanced degree preferred
- Specialization in Literacy or Special Education
- Demonstrated successful teaching at the college level (adjuncting is appropriate)
- Demonstrated successful teaching in an early childhood school setting
- Preference for candidates who have experience in and passion for working with diverse learners
