We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Beer Keg Picker to join our dynamic team at Chesapeake Beverage, a leading beer distributor. The Beer Keg Picker is responsible for accurately picking and preparing beer kegs for shipment to our customers. The Rate of pay is $17.30 per hour commission. The schedule is Monday - Thursday from 10am-8:30pm. Dress for working in the cold box for 10 hours a day. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and ensuring the highest level of quality in every order.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately select and pick beer kegs from the warehouse cold box shelves based on customer orders and delivery requirements.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory by ensuring proper storage and handling of kegs. Perform regular checks to ensure kegs are properly labeled and in good condition.
- Safely load and stage kegs for transport, ensuring orders are prepared on time for distribution.
- Inspect kegs for damage or defects, ensuring only quality products are sent out to customers. Report any discrepancies or damaged items to the supervisor.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines for lifting, carrying, and handling kegs to avoid injury and damage to products.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, as needed to move kegs efficiently.
- Work closely with other warehouse staff, including loaders, drivers, and supervisors, to ensure smooth and timely order fulfillment.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
- Complete necessary paperwork or digital logs related to inventory, picking, and shipping.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution environments preferred, especially in beverage or food distribution.
- Ability to work in a lower temperature environment for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure orders are picked accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of and adherence to workplace safety standards, including safe lifting techniques and equipment operation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to operate a Cherry Picker Forklift and other warehouse equipment
- Forklift Certification: (Preferred, or willingness to obtain certification on the job)
