Senior Accountant Job Description
Position: Senior Accountant
Reports to: Controller
Basic Purpose: Manage G/L and Balance Sheet; Journal entries; Posting cash; Produce month-end financial reports.
Basic Requirements:
- Train and mentor junior staff
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks
- Attention to detail
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financials
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with emphasis in Accounting,
- 5 years of experience in the field
Desired Skills:
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Full working knowledge of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
- Problem solving
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work together in close-knit team environment
- Self-motivated; able to work independently without direct supervision
- Experience with Intercompany transactions is a plus
Basic Duties
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
- Reporting to Government Agencies (Sales tax, 1099 etc.)
- Posting of Journal Entries
- Assist with annual audit preparations and documentation for tax preparation
