About The Job :
The Speech Language Therapist will be responsible for performing all Speech Language Therapy Services including outpatient and inpatient. This individual provides Speech Language Therapy services to patients in accordance with the physician treatment plans. This includes work to prevent, evaluate, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in children and adolescents. The Speech Language Pathologist may also be involved in the supervision of rehab aides and students. This position will assure quality Speech Language Pathology care and regulatory guideline compliance leading to positive patient outcomes.
The Shift :
PRN- Monday-Friday 7 : 00-5 : 00
This is a temporary position for approximately 20 hours a week.
It will consist of a consistent 15-25 hours per week and will include training as needed in the beginning. Patient caseload will in include a variety from geriatric to pediatric.
The Pay :
Starting wage $33.20 increases with experience
What We Need from You :
- Assists in the planning, daily operation, and marketing of the Speech Language Therapy Department
- Gives assistance in establishing and maintaining effective departmental procedures and policies.
- Evaluates, plans, directs, supervises, and treats patients in accordance with physician orders.
- Coordinates the training and evaluation of support personnel.
- Maintains patient treatment records in accordance with departmental and hospital policy.
- Is competent to provide care to the populations served, which includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Assists with monitoring of quality improvement plan for the department.
- Follows ASHA Speech Language Therapy Code of Ethics
- Assists in program development.
- Supports and abides by all PHO departmental and safety policies and procedures.

Mitchell County Regional Health Center is in Osage, Iowa located in Mitchell County, which has a population of 10,600 people. MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.
