What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inside Sales Representative position at Mitchell Lewis & Staver?
Provide customer service and assistance to customers, outside sales, and operations teams. The position will report to the Branch Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Answer incoming phone calls, disburse messages, and manage email flow
- Submit sales orders to the appropriate software
- Understand the ERP application at a beginner level
- Perform customer service functions
- Enter direct ship orders and purchase orders into the applicable program
- Understands and interprets technical language regarding pump sizing, including GPM, TDH, power requirement voltage, phase, amps
- Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook at a basic level
- Experience in agricultural, residential, or industrial pumping
- Experience with rotating equipment, liquid pumps, and motors
- Ability to work overtime

- Detail oriented: identifies defects and ensures compliance with specifications
- Technical Aptitude: understands and interprets technical language regarding pump sizing, including GPM, TDH, power requirement voltage, phase, amps
- Communication: able to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in written and oral forms to internal and external customers
- Initiative: takes ownership of work without being asked
Education Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 to 2 years of previous experience in inside sales or customer service roles
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain at a stationary position 50% of the time
- Ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds
Work Environment:
- The duties of the job are primarily performed in an office environment
- There is some exposure to noise in the work environment, which is usually moderate
- This position is not eligible for telework
