Description
- The Field Service Engineer plays a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of specialized laboratory instrumentation.
- This position provides essential support to internal teams and end users, ensuring high-quality service and training.
- The engineer is responsible for on-site troubleshooting, technical guidance, and customer education.
- The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and be a trusted technical resource during field visits to laboratory sites across the region.
- Hands-on experience servicing, calibrating, and repairing laboratory equipment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities with both hardware and software
- Familiarity with various analysis and testing tools
- Proficiency with commonly used operating systems and office productivity suites
- Capable of interpreting schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for customer interaction
- Experience with diagnostic instruments and tools commonly used in laboratory settings
- Organizational and time management skills to prioritize field assignments effectively
- Able to work with tools, electronic systems, and handle delicate components
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and maneuver large equipment on wheels
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time (including weekends and holidays occasionally)
- Comfortable working with hazardous materials and conducting visual inspections
- Manual dexterity for detailed repair tasks
- Experience working in laboratory or clinical environments
- Background with diagnostic systems such as immunoassay or fluidic equipment
- Working knowledge of CRM tools and service ticketing systems
- Passport preferred for rare international support travel
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
