Description
The Homefinding Department oversees the recruitment, training, and certification of foster homes, ensuring high-quality care for children and excellent support for foster parents. This position involves conducting assessments, certifications, and reauthorizations for foster families while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
Key responsibilities include conducting home visits, maintaining certification documentation, training foster parents, and collaborating with team members to support foster care programs.
Responsibilities
Conduct home studies and reauthorizations for recruited and kinship homes.
Ensure all necessary certification and reauthorization documents are up-to-date and filed accurately.
Perform home visits to assess physical space, motivation, and family functioning.
Adhere to foster care regulations and standards.
Provide foster parent training and support recruitment efforts.
Participate in case conferences, supervision, staff meetings, and in-service training.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operational processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field.
Fluency in English and Spanish.
Strong knowledge of child welfare practices.
Excellent interviewing and assessment skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
Proficiency in office productivity tools and database systems.
Desired Skills
MAPP certification preferred.
Valid driver’s license is a plus.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
