Description:
* The Senior Data Engineer will lead a team responsible for designing and managing data pipelines, ensuring the effective flow of information within an organization.
* This role involves overseeing integration engineers, designing and documenting data architectures, ensuring quality in deliverables, and collaborating across teams.
* The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, data pipeline design, and governance frameworks to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of integration engineers, including full-time and contract resources.
* Architect, design, and document data pipelines to support business operations.
* Provide mentorship and cross-team communication to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
* Oversee the quality of deliverables and enforce best practices in data management.
* Handle administrative management duties, including resource planning and budgeting.
Required Skills:
* 10 years of experience in data engineering leadership roles.
* Extensive experience with traditional relational databases.
* Strong knowledge of data integration tools and techniques.
* Experience with distributed computing and orchestration platforms.
* Expertise in event-driven architectures and data streaming methodologies.
* Familiarity with financial data structures and reporting.
* Strong skills in data modeling and defining data contracts between systems.
* Knowledge of modern data pipeline architectures, especially within cloud environments.
* Experience with hybrid data processing models, combining real-time and batch processing.
* Proficiency in architectural documentation, including conceptual and logical modeling.
* Microservices-based design expertise.
* Experience implementing data governance within data pipelines.
* Familiarity with analytical data structures for AI and advanced analytics.
* Knowledge of various data platforms, including cloud-based storage and data governance tools.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to present complex concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
* Bachelor's degree required.
Desired Skills:
* Experience in financial services, including knowledge of financial products and derivatives.
* Familiarity with data observability and reliability engineering practices.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $175000K-$250000K
