Title: Social Work Supervisor
Location: Northeastern Region
Description
The Social Work Supervisor will oversee a team of therapists and crisis case workers to ensure adherence to best practices, model fidelity, and regulatory standards in a family-focused foster care program. This role combines administrative oversight and clinical supervision to promote positive outcomes for families, provide behavior-focused interventions, and support compliance with child welfare standards. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, clinical expertise, and strong organizational skills to the team.
Responsibilities
Administrative Supervision:
Provide supervision to up to three therapists/case planners and a crisis case worker.
Assign new cases, ensuring timely registration and documentation.
Monitor compliance with case record requirements, assessments, and agency standards.
Ensure timely completion and approval of reports, including progress notes and case closings.
Conduct performance evaluations and address staff performance issues as needed.
Enforce staff compliance with attendance, time-off policies, and conditions of employment.
Ensure program utilization meets performance-based requirements.
Collaborate with departments to ensure safety and service needs for families are prioritized.
Clinical Supervision
Conduct weekly group supervision to ensure fidelity to evidence-based models.
Provide one-on-one supervision to address barriers to effective implementation of treatment.
Oversee clinician documentation and reporting to meet program and regulatory requirements.
Provide role-play, co-therapy, and field support to develop clinician competencies.
Support clinicians with crisis intervention and ensure accessibility to clients as needed.
Collaborate with external experts and consultants to provide feedback and training to team members.
Develop and monitor clinician development plans, ensuring continuous professional growth.
Build relationships with community stakeholders to maintain referral streams and ensure program success.
Additional Duties
Participate in weekly consultations and team meetings to support program objectives.
Be available to respond to client needs, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
Support families through crisis interventions, case planning, and permanency goals.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the program’s success.
Required Skills
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling, or an equivalent NYS license-eligible mental health profession.
Clinical experience working with adolescents and families in child welfare, mental health, or juvenile justice settings.
At least two years of experience as a practicing therapist is preferred.
Strong administrative, supervisory, and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in computer applications and documentation systems.
Desired Skills
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
Experience with evidence-based treatment models, particularly MST-CAN.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or travel to various locations to meet program needs.
