Title: Information Governance Manager
Location: Hybrid within the Northeastern Region (Onsite 2–3 days per week)
Description:
The Information Governance Manager will lead a team responsible for implementing and managing Information Governance (IG) operations across the data lifecycle. This role is critical in shaping IG technology solutions, facilitating secure data handling, and ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and client obligations. The ideal candidate will work closely with practice groups, leadership, and administrative departments to continuously enhance IG capabilities and processes.
Responsibilities:
Technology & Information Lifecycle Management:
Design, implement, and improve information governance systems across the organization.
Identify and execute process improvements to ensure best practices in data retention, organization, and security.
Oversee data remediation projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Leverage technology solutions to support records management for both physical and electronic information.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Apply data protection, privacy, and confidentiality best practices in collaboration with compliance, legal, and security teams.
Manage the disposition of eligible documents and data, ensuring adherence to retention policies.
Ensure legal holds and data retention schedules are administered efficiently.
Oversee client records onboarding and offboarding, including secure data transfers.
Operations & Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with engineering teams to design IG solutions for handling sensitive information.
Oversee matter mobility and maintenance operations, ensuring consistency across record sources.
Develop and deliver IG training programs for internal staff and stakeholders.
Manage vendor relationships related to IG solutions and services.
Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CRM, CIP, ICP) preferred.
Required Skills & Experience:
7 years of experience in Information Governance, ideally within a professional services organization.
Strong understanding of document management, security/access tools, and records management systems.
Experience executing large-scale data remediation projects.
Expertise in electronic and physical data retention best practices.
Knowledge of privacy regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CPRA.
Demonstrated experience in team leadership, staff development, and process optimization.
Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Compensation:
$135,000 – $155,000 per year
