What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Shift - Setup Technician position at Mitchell Plastics?
Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Set-Up: Start and set up all new jobs, including molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and tooling according to the set-up master.
Process Monitoring: Ensure that processes run within tolerances specified in the set-up master and document any set-up changes outside of these tolerances as per WI-3.1-C.
Quality Assurance: Verify color feeders are set to the set-up master and ensure products meet quality standards outlined in operator instructions. Hand in the first-off to the Cell Leader for verification.
Issue Reporting: Notify the Production Supervisor of any processes outside of tolerances or nonconforming processes.
Meetings: Attend Bi-Weekly set-up meetings to discuss and review set-up processes.
Checklists: Complete the Daily Crane Inspection Checklist and Daily Mold Change Checklist accurately.
Safety Procedures: Follow Lock-Out procedures and 5S practices to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
Tracker Monitoring: Ensure that the tracker reads nominal cycle and matches the set-up master at the machine.
Shift Communication: Communicate all issues and important information with the incoming shift to ensure smooth transitions.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all plant safety rules and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12 education.
Required Skills:
At least one year of experience as an injection molding set-up technician.
Basic math skills and proficiency in reading and writing English.
Understanding of key Quality & Environmental Management Systems procedures related to job function.
