Key Responsibilities:
As a Quality Engineer, you will take charge of ensuring customer satisfaction on quality-related matters, contribute to the APQP process, and manage quality across all stages of production. Your key duties will include:
Customer Satisfaction: Ensure top-notch quality standards that exceed customer expectations.
APQP Process Leadership: Oversee feasibility assessments, quality issue resolutions (including GD&T, gauge design, and testing), and recommend KPC’s and KCC’s.
Customer Requirements Management: Determine and communicate customer specifications to internal teams for seamless implementation.
Rejection Analysis: Review and follow up on customer, internal, and supplier rejections, implementing corrective actions where needed.
Voice of the Customer: Represent the customer’s perspective in all part quality decisions and recommendations.
PPAP Submissions: Prepare and manage PPAP submissions on assigned programs.
Dimensional Evaluation: Coordinate evaluations, SPC studies, and ensure equipment calibration.
Gauge Studies & Process Evaluation: Participate in Gauge Accuracy and Process Capability studies, reporting findings with statistical charts.
Training & Development: Provide training for operators and cell leaders on in-process inspections and quality systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Be an active participant in cross-functional teams to improve processes and systems.
Customer Warranty Issues: Analyze and respond to warranty-related issues, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Travel: Occasional travel to customer and supplier facilities, both domestic and international.
Additional Tasks: Take on various tasks as directed by the Quality Manager or Assistant Quality Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in a relevant field or Certification in CQE.
A minimum of two years of experience in a quality-related role.
At least 3 years of automotive industry experience in the quality field.
Strong understanding of Quality & Environmental Management Systems.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proficiency in problem-solving techniques, Quality Systems, APQP, Statistical Methods, Control Plans, and PPAP.
Leadership and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with injection molding and assembly processes.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with Project Management techniques.
