Due to career advancement in the district, Mitchell Public Schools is seeking an Activities/Atheletic Director for the 2025-2026 school year.
This position includes all responsibilities associated with leading our staff, students, and community through all things extracurricular. Specific duties include scheduling of activities and events, leadership with coaches and sponsors, ensuring events are well planned and carried out, and the extracurricular environment is a safe place for everyone. Mitchell offers a variety of opportunities for our students, and over 85% of students are involved in at least one activity.
This position requires someone with strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. This is considered an Administrative position and applicants should currently possess or be able to obtain a Nebraska Administrative Endorsement (or provisional). Additional duties, responsibilities, or leadership roles are dependent upon the selected candidate's strengths.
This is an 11-month contract with an effective start date of or around August 1st and running through June 30th annually. Benefits include a BCBS health insurance plan as needed (up to full family) with a $650 deductible. A starting salary will be set at $88,000 with the potential for negotiation for experienced candidates.
