Preschool Teacher Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated teaching assistant in our inclusion classrooms to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in early childhood development and a genuine love for working with children. As a teaching assistant, you will play a crucial role in fostering the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our students, ensuring they are well-prepared for their educational journey ahead.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with daily tasks, such as using the bathroom, eating, and dressing
• Provide one-on-one support to students in the classroom or in small groups
• Help with classroom management, including maintaining a clean and organized environment
• Assist with implementing lesson plans and activities to support students' educational goals
• Work closely with teachers to implement and collect data on individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional materials to meet the needs of students with autism and developmental disabilities
• Provide behavioral support and strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviors
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure consistency and progress
• Assist with supervising students during recess, lunch, and other activities
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.

Experience

• Experience working with young children with autism and/or developmental disabilities
• Experience with classroom management
• Familiarity with preschool curriculum and best practices
• Experience in the preschool/childcare setting

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
