Position Summary:
MiTeGen is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Scientific Sales - Account Manager to join our growing team. This role will be instrumental in expanding our market presence and driving sales of our products and services to researchers utilizing X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM. The ideal candidate will possess a strong scientific background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management:
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and new customers in academic institutions, research institutes, and pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies.
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Proactively assist customers to help improve work in the lab and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Manage and grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities to utilize the technologies we offer or to develop customized solutions.
- Sales and Business Development:
- Identify and qualify new leads within the target market.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities in X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM.
- Attend scientific conferences, trade shows, and industry events to network and promote MiTeGen's products and services.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations.
- Negotiate and close sales contracts.
- Technical Expertise:
- Develop a deep understanding of MiTeGen's products and their applications in X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in structural biology and related fields.
- Collaborate with the technical team to provide customer feedback and contribute to product development.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing to develop and execute campaigns.
- Collaborate with the technical team to solve customer issues and develop custom solutions.
- Provide feedback to management on sales, customer trends, and key performance indicators.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in the CRM system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related scientific field (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
- Experience with X-ray crystallography or cryo-EM techniques is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of success in sales or account management, preferably in the life sciences or scientific instrumentation industry.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize, streamline, and execute a large number of tasks in a timely and effective manner
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel.
