Employee Type: Regular The desired candidate will perform safe and efficient construction equipment operation, and other duties as assigned by the construction manager and/or the site supervisor.
Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Operate various types of construction equipment to perform tasks such as leveling, shaping, and excavating surfaces
- Perform all job duties per OSHA and MSHA laws and regulations, established company safety policies, and state and federal environmental regulations in a safe manner consistent with the Mitigation Resources of North America safety culture
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on the equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Perform various physical duties as directed by the site supervisor, such as installation of structures, erosion matting, silt fencing, seeding, and fueling
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
- Willing to be cross-trained and task trained on all construction and ancillary equipment
- Move, secure, install, build, load, or unload materials
- Moves items from place to place, according to the direction of the site supervisor
- Extended periods of travel will be required
OTHER DUTIES:
- Work with other ancillary equipment in a safe and organized manner
- Assist in water management, reclamation, load/haul, and maintenance activities, as necessary
- Miscellaneous work related to stream mitigation activities and operation of ancillary equipment. Some of these activities will occur outside the cab of the equipment
- Assist with any maintenance needs for routine repairs
- Keep the supervisor informed of any potential problems
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Previous experience operating heavy equipment such as graders, bulldozers, and loaders
- Familiarity with GPS equipment is a plus
- Knowledge of proper equipment operation techniques and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must understand basic mechanical workings of construction equipment to operate properly, within tolerances, and perform preventative maintenance and servicing on occasion
- Knowledge and ability to respond to emergencies and unpredictable situations
- Ability to recognize unsafe and adverse conditions and the knowledge to correct them
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience operating off-road construction equipment
