- Customer Service: Greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service throughout their dining experience, and addressing any inquiries or concerns they may have.
- Order Processing: Taking customer orders, ensuring accuracy, and entering them into the point-of-sale (POS) system. This may include handling both dine-in and takeout orders.
- Payment Processing: Accepting payments from customers, which can include cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments, and vouchers. Accurately processing transactions and providing appropriate change or receipts.
- Menu Knowledge: Familiarity with the restaurant's menu items, daily specials, and promotions to assist customers in making informed decisions.
- Upselling: Suggesting additional items or upgrades to customers, such as desserts, appetizers, or beverages, to increase sales and enhance the customer's dining experience.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the cashier station and surrounding areas clean and organized to ensure a tidy and efficient workspace.
- Collaboration: Coordinating with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
- Handling Customer Issues: Resolving customer complaints or issues in a polite and efficient manner or escalating them to the manager, if necessary.
- Accounting and Reporting: Recording sales transactions accurately and preparing daily or shift-end reports for the restaurant management.
- Cash Management: Ensuring the cash register is balanced and that all payments received match the records.
- Compliance and Security: Adhering to restaurant policies and procedures, including security measures for handling cash and ensuring PCI compliance when processing card payments.
