Roles & Responsibilities:
This role will evolve over time to meet the needs of the Finance team and MITRE, improving MITRE’s administration of a firm fixed price and time and materials work portfolio, providing consulting and advisory support around business model development, and strengthening opportunity management at MITRE.

Roles & Responsibilities:
This role will evolve over time to meet the needs of the Finance team and MITRE, improving MITRE’s administration of a firm fixed price and time and materials work portfolio, providing consulting and advisory support around business model development, and strengthening opportunity management at MITRE.
- Serve in a senior business partner capacity, generating reports and insights on the pipeline and performance of MITRE’s firm fixed price and T&M portfolios.
- Create and disseminate monthly reports on the financial performance of individual and collective project portfolio.
- Generate insights and recommendations to improve the overall administration of FFP and T&M project work.
- Generate improvements and better line-of-sight into the related project and opportunity pipeline.
- Analyze financial and strategic implications of decisions and options, identify opportunities and risks, and recommend solutions.
- Create artifacts, reports, and presentations that enable leadership decision making.
- Provide an “outside in” perspective on the norms, practices, trends, and behaviors of the commercial contractor market to educate and inform MITRE Finance leadership.
- Conduct special research and/or analysis projects on related business topics at the request of the Director of Strategic Finance or CFO.
- Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 10 years of Finance and/or consulting experience within the US Government (Federal) practice of a professional services firm and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 7 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
- Experience working in finance for a federal contractor
- Experience with and understanding of federally-funded research and development centers
- Experience with pricing, contracting, and reporting across multiple contract types including cost plus fixed fee, time and materials, and firm fixed price models
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Tableau, Salesforce, and/or OneStream preferred
- Mindset of continuous improvement with the capacity to drive change
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills
- Flexible team player with the ability to work in cross-functional teams and across varying groups and organizational levels
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent deliverables while maintaining high quality output
