In Office Requirement: 5 days a week onsite
The NORAD & USNORTHCOM, USSPACECOM Operations department provides multidisciplinary systems and operational engineering for North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), and Headquarters United States Space Command (USSPACECOM). The department is a vibrant element of the N250 Joint Staff (JS) and Combatant Command (CCMD) Division, emphasizes collaboration and sponsor mission orientation. Several MITRE corporate initiatives have roots or leadership in this department: Homeland Defense, thought leadership for Space as a Warfighting Domain, resiliency analysis for critical infrastructure, and lead for MITRE's Arctic Experimentation efforts.
You will work as part of a team of interns and early career staff to solve problem sets for the Department of Defense.

Basic Qualifications
- Must be a student enrolled full-time pursuing an accredited degree seeking program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related degree program and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship
- Knowledge of electrical engineering theory and one or more of the following: digital signal processing, wireless communications, computer architecture, embedded software, embedded security, cryptography, analog design, RF/EM, sensors and antennas, photonics, power systems, and software architecture and design
- Sustained excellence in academic performance
- Experience having applied electrical engineering or computer engineering learning to an internship or research/lab position.
- Advanced Math through Calc II, Experience with modeling tools (e.g. SysML, MATLAB)
- "Hands-on" skills in at least one or more programming language
- Demonstrated interest in serving the public
