About This Role
The Department Manager for the Data Science and Information Department is accountable to the Managing Director of the Health Research, Innovation, and Data Science Division for the successful planning, development, and execution of a portion of the Division's sponsor strategic outcomes and associated Federal Health work programs.
Responsibilities
The Department Manager will be responsible for ensuring products delivered to sponsors from the department are of high technical quality, and ensures the hiring, development, and support of their workforce. They will also contribute to cross-Federal collaboration, information sharing, and the development of innovative solutions that are applicable to multiple sponsors.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 10 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 7 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience in data science, informatics, research data infrastructure, discovery platforms and AI/ML. The candidate should also demonstrate leadership experience working with Federal Health organizations, Research and Alliance partners.
